Pack-size comparisons are one of the cleanest areas for objective product intelligence because the maths is transparent.
The calculation
Price per ml = current selling price ÷ declared ml
Example: a 30 ml serum at ₹799 costs about ₹26.63/ml. A 60 ml pack at ₹1,399 costs about ₹23.32/ml. The second pack has the lower unit price in this example, but the exact result changes with current pricing.
Compare the same product version
Make sure the larger pack has the same formula or version. Brands sometimes update packaging, formulations or market-specific SKUs, so size alone is not enough.
Track both MRP and current price separately
For affiliate pages, DermaQA should avoid presenting an old discount as permanent. Store the “last checked” date and show a current-price link instead of hard-coding a discount claim indefinitely.
Do not mix weight and volume
A 50 g cream and 50 ml lotion should remain separate units unless density is known.
Unit price tells you which pack costs less per declared unit at a given moment. It does not tell you which product or pack a reader should buy.
Frequently asked questions
Is a 60 ml pack always cheaper per ml?
No. Promotions and pricing can make a smaller pack cheaper per ml.
Should shipping be included?
If a marketplace charges shipping separately, state that the listed product price excludes or includes shipping as applicable.
How often should price be checked?
Commercial pages should display a last-checked date and avoid implying that a dynamic marketplace price is permanent.
